Dominican Republic Mission Trip Giving Tree Fundraiser:
Located in the back of the Worship Center after worship services through December 30th is a DR Mission Trip giving tree. Feel free to take an ornament home and bring back the items listed on the ornament. This will help with the tangible items the team is collecting for the trip. Everyone plays a different role in the mission trip, this could be your place to help!

Give and Reduce Taxes:
Not all retirees who take a required minimum distribution, or RMD, from their retirement account, need the money for living expenses. In fact, some don’t need the money at all. So, what might retirement account owners do with those pesky RMDs? If you are age 70½ or older, you can transfer up to $100,000 to an eligible charity. Known as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD), these funds have to come from your IRA and be paid directly to a qualified charity. This special distribution can satisfy your RMD amount and be excluded from your taxable income. Contact your financial institution to make sure the transfer is executed correctly—and don’t wait until the December 31st deadline! Keep in mind, any QCD amount is not considered a charitable deduction if you itemize deductions at tax time, making this strategy very beneficial for people who don’t itemize. And this option can only be used with IRAs (except SEP or SIMPLE IRAs that are considered active – meaning the IRA owner is receiving ongoing employer contributions). Employer-sponsored plans are not eligible. If you have questions, please contact Jamie VandenHeuvel.

Bethlehem Experience is Postponed Until 2019:
We’d like to share some important news in regards to our annual Bethlehem Experience. As many of you are aware, we are in the midst of a building campaign here at Creekside. A new Worship Center and Children’s wing are to be constructed, with anticipated completion around Spring 2020. Come this November, the physical site of the new building will begin to be significantly impacted by construction equipment, silt fencing, and tree clearing. The field used for BE will literally be dug up, with restricted access. Based on these facts and with the information at hand, through much prayer and consideration – it was decided collaboratively that BE should be postponed until December 2019. This joint decision-making process includes Elders, staff, and the BE steering committee. The bottom line is that we cannot risk the safety of our Church family and numerous guests with the obvious dangers that come from being on, near, or around a fully functional construction site. If you have any questions, please contact Stephen Corp.
