Day 3 – Learning to Trust God’s Timing
Read:
Isaiah 40:12-31
Israel lived in exile for 70 years. They knew the frustration of waiting. Although Isaiah prophesied a rescuer would come, it became harder and harder to believe the promise. In response, Isaiah reminds Israel of God’s power and might, His thoughtfulness, and attention to detail. But when days turn to months and months turn to years, hearts become sick from deferred hope.
Our God is sovereign – He has a plan, and it will come to pass in His timing. Isaiah asks in this passage, “Do you not know? Have you not heard?” If you do not know His plan or have heard, then look about His creation and you can see, you can feel, you can sense His presence. Part of His plan is for you to draw closer to Him as we live here on earth; our temporary home from His glory.
Reflect:
- Do you not know? Take time this Christmas season to get to know God’s plan for Jesus coming back to claim His bride, the church.
- Have you not heard? Listen to the creation of our Everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. Breath in His love and power to give you peace and strength during this season to reflect upon Him and His love for you.
