Day 11: When the Road Is Long

  -

Read: Luke 2:1–7

“…with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. (Luke 2:5)”

The ninety-mile trek from Nazareth to Bethlehem was not a scenic babymoon; it was hard, slow obedience. Mary and Joseph walked because God’s word said the Messiah would be born there. Often, the path of faith feels uphill. Tired feet don’t mean you’re on the wrong road; they mean you’re human.

If you’re worn out, receive this encouragement: Jesus meets you on the way. Strength comes in steps, not in stockpiles. Ask for today’s grace for today’s needs. Parents, normalize perseverance with your kids; celebrate character, not only outcomes.

At Creekside, we Grow in Community by carrying one another’s burdens. Invite someone into your long road—a text for prayer, a meal swap, a carpool share. God’s promises will meet you at the destination, but His presence is already with you on the journey.

Reflect:

  • What part of your life currently feels like a long uphill road?
  • Who could walk with you—or who could you walk with—this week?
