Day 5: Prepare Him Room

  -

Prepare Him Room

Read: Luke 3:2–6

“Prepare the way for the Lord; make straight paths for him. (Luke 3:4)”

John the Baptist’s ministry wasn’t about decorating the path—it was about clearing it. He called people to repent: to change direction, to make space for the Messiah. Advent invites us to the same work. Before we add more, what needs to be removed? Resentment, hurry, comparison, secret sin, or just the noise that crowds out Christ?

Preparation is practical. Schedule margin to read Luke with your family. Turn a recurring errand into prayer-walking. Simplify a party so you can notice people, not just plates. Invite someone new to Christmas Eve. To Grow in Community is to prepare each other—spurring on love and good deeds by reminding one another what matters most.

Clearing space is not about perfection; it’s about repentance and direction. As we turn from sin, God’s Spirit makes room in us for Christ.. Point your life toward Jesus and say, “Come in.” He fills whatever room you make for Him—and He makes more room in you for hope, peace, and joy.

Reflect:

  • What one distraction is God inviting you to clear away this week?
  • How could you help someone else prepare room for Jesus this month?
