Discipleship for All Ages

  -

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. (Acts 2:42)

At Creekside, we speak of Knowing Christ, Growing in Community, and Going with Compassion. Growing in Community is all about discipleship. God calls us to train up children in the way they should go, and He calls adults to continue growing in their faith. Discipleship is not a one-time event—it’s a lifelong journey. When we invest in others, we are planting the seeds of discipleship. When we invest in spaces and ministries that nurture spiritual growth, we are shaping the next generations for Christ.

The early believers devoted themselves to teaching and fellowship. (Acts 2:42) They understood that discipleship thrives in community. Whether its children learning Bible stories, students discovering their identity in Christ, or adults deepening their understanding of Scripture, every age group needs intentional spiritual formation.

Expanding our campus creates dedicated spaces where children, students, and adults can be discipled intentionally—classrooms for kids, gathering areas for students, and environments for adults to study Scripture together. Every classroom, every ministry space becomes a place where lives are transformed.

The early church’s generosity wasn’t just about meeting needs—it created space for discipleship to flourish, exactly what our Overflow Initiative will do today.

Reflection:

  1. How has discipleship shaped your spiritual journey?
  2. What role can you play in discipling others?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for investing in us through Your Son and through faithful mentors you’ve placed in our lives. Shape us into disciples who make disciples across every generation. Guide our giving toward the Overflow Initiative so that expanded spaces become places where children, students, and adults grow deeply in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
