Day 25 – God Included You
Read
Psalm 105:1-4; Psalm 68:3-5
Today, as you read the Christmas story and reflect on Jesus’ birth, marvel at this: God included you in the story. This good news message of Jesus Christ, heralded by angels and declared to shepherds, was also delivered to you.
“Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice!”
– Psalm 105:3
For the Israelites, Jesus was meant to be the fulfillment of their long-awaited hope that God would deliver a Messiah, a Savior, to His people. This would be a time of great rejoicing. When Jesus did come he not only came to save the Jews from sin and death, but he also came to save all of mankind (John 3:16). A baby born humbly in a manger would grow up and love everyone enough to willingly give up his life and save all those who believe in Him (Hebrews 12:2).
This amazing news is for everyone who believes in Jesus. When we look past the trees, lights, ornaments, and cookies, we see that the focus of Christmas is meant to be that God brought His Son to life out of His love for each and every one of us. That gift is the greatest of all and it was given to you. Let us be filled with joy today because God included us in the Christmas story!
Reflect:
- What can you do today to rejoice and praise God for the fact that He has included you in the good news of Jesus?
