Day 3: When God Feels Silent
When God Feels Silent
Read: Luke 1:5–25
“Your prayer has been heard. (Luke 1:13)”
Between the Old and New Testaments stretched four hundred years without new prophets—a long quiet that could feel like absence. Yet in the quiet, God was preparing the moment. Zechariah shows up to serve at the temple, and an angel breaks the silence with a personal word: “Your prayer has been heard.”
Silence does not equal absence. Often, it equals preparation. Like a seed under winter soil, God’s answers are taking root even when you cannot see them. Keep showing up—opening Scripture, gathering on Sundays, praying honest prayers. Parents, teach your kids that waiting on God is active: we listen, obey the light we have, and trust His heart when we don’t have all the answers.
At Creekside, to Know Christ is to learn His pace. He is never late and never rushed. If you’re carrying a long-standing request, bring it again today. Name it before the Lord and ask for fresh faith to wait well—open-handed, not tight-fisted.
Reflect:
- What persistent prayer do you need to bring back to God today?
- What does “waiting actively” look like for you this week?
