Jesus’ Sacrifice and Our Response

  -

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

His master said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” (Matthew 25:21)

The greatest gift ever given was timely, thoughtful, surprising, and extravagantly costly—God’s own Son. His sacrifice on the cross secured our salvation and demonstrated the depth of God’s love. When we remember what Jesus has done, our hearts are moved toward worship, gratitude, and obedience.

Jesus teaches that faithful stewardship leads to eternal reward. “Well done, good and faithful servant” is the affirmation every believer longs to hear. Faithfulness is not measured by the size of our resources but by our willingness to use them for God’s glory.

Our giving, serving, and participation in kingdom work are responses to Christ’s sacrifice. We don’t give to earn salvation—we give because salvation has already been given to us.

Reflection:

  1. How does the gift of salvation through Jesus’ sacrifice shape your daily decisions?
  2. In what ways can you be a more faithful steward?

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for the extravagant gift of your son. Help me to respond in kind by being faithful over all the material and spiritual blessings you have given me. Help me to live my life as a wise steward. In Jesus’ name, amen.
